SAP and OPTIMAL SYSTEMS: Successful CMIS certification

OPTIMAL SYSTEMS has successfully completed certification for the SAP CMIS interface and thereby continues to offer extensive SAP support.

What is CMIS?

When ECM and ERP systems interact with each other, reliable standards and certified interfaces are essential. Especially when interacting with SAP software, which is used worldwide, users of digital document management systems need an interface that regulates data exchange securely, efficiently and easily.

The abbreviation CMIS stands for Content Management Interoperability Services and refers to an open standard for cross-vendor ECM connectivity. CMIS is not a native SAP product, but is supported by SAP and is intended to replace the ArchiveLink® interface in the future.

Certification for a cloud-based future

CMIS particularly shows its full potential in cloud-based ECM environments, such as those now offered by OPTIMAL SYSTEMS products. Flexible and individual folder structures are no problem for the interface. In addition, compliance with the CMIS standard contributes to a consolidation of the system landscape – which in turn can result in a streamlining of the IT environment and thus a reduction in costs.

The CMIS interface was developed with a special focus on integration with the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), which allows development teams to implement applications, analyses and integration solutions connected to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public and Private Edition.
