Through Hospital-Wide Use of ECM

The recognized non-profit organization Immanuel Diakonie has around 3,100 employees working at 50 locations in seven German states. The group of companies includes clinics, practices, senior citizens’ facilities, as well as facilities for addiction treatment, assistance for the disabled, child and youth care, psychosocial counselling, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy.

Immanuel Diakonie took on a major challenge when they decided to rebuild and modernize Immanuel Klinik Rüdersdorf. In addition to moving from the old hospital to the new building, the non-profit wanted to introduce a modern IT infrastructure based on a central DMS for handling all information and documents arising in the clinic. Another goal was to integrate the existing IT systems and to digitally map all previously paper-based processes.

The ambitious project was part of a major undertaking involving three hospitals and a rehabilitation clinic of Immanuel Diakonie. They key objective was to make all documents and multimedia objects associated with patient data available at the push of a button. After sounding out the market, Immanuel Diakonie chose OPTIMAL SYSTEMS software. the provider stood out due to its high functional and technological diversity that specifically addresses the requirements of the health care sector.

The experience gained in the project implemented at Immanuel Klinik Rüdersdorf will be applied to Evangelisch-Freikirchliches Krankenhaus und Herzzentrum Brandenburg in Bernau, Rehabilitionsklinik Märkische Schweiz, and Immanuel Krankenhaus Berlin, who are next in line for modernization in order to improve quality, service, and the NPO’s commercial competitiveness.
