German Mustard Market Leader Goes Digital

Develey is a long-established German delicatessen company. Develey has been producing mustard for 170 years and today unites several regional brands under one roof: Löwensenf, Bautz’ner, and Develey. The company, which started off as a small shop in Munich, today is a mustard partner of McDonald’s and others. For Germany’s largest mustard producer, the evolution from paper-based to digital processes was a must.

The foundation for this was laid by introducing OPTIMAL SYSTEMS’ ECM software for digital archiving and electronic document management. Other key components of the ECM system include central scanning of incoming invoices, archiving of outbound documents from the ERP system, and process-driven e-mail archiving that integrates with IBM (Lotus) Notes and Microsoft Office. The group-wide expansion of the solution into a company-wide information platform is also planned.
