The public utility Jena-Pößneck GmbH, subsidiary of the Jena public utilities, was founded in 1992 and provides approximately 70,000 customers in homes and business and industrial enterprises with gas, heating and electricity in Jena and its surroundings. The company decided for an ECM system to improve the operational procedures and make them more dynamic. The distributed locations should not present any advantages. Access to customer files from outposts should also be enabled at any time, in order to guarantee the information provision capability of the employees. Saving additional space was also an important aim. In order to achieve work easing alterations, a flexible solution was sought, which could integrate in the systems existing in the organization: whether Office applications, special databases or sector specific solutions, the archive and document management system should support data exchange without any problems.
Testimonial Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck:
“The introduction took place largely automatically but had to be prepared with a lot of thought, since good content and organizational preparation raises the benefit. The advantages of the archive system have quickly got about among the users, so that ECM is by no means considered to be just a gimmick from the IT department. It has quickly developed into one of the most important applications in the organization and has achieved a high degree of acceptance among the users.”
